Angela Bassett Returns to ‘Mission: Impossible’ Franchise for Final Reckoning

Angela Bassett is set to reprise her role as CIA Director Erika Sloane in the upcoming film “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the eighth installment of the popular spy action franchise. Known for her powerful performances, Bassett returns to the series after her appearance in “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” in 2018. The film, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, will see Tom Cruise once again take on the role of Ethan Hunt, leading his team on another high-stakes mission to save the world.

The cast of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” will also feature returning stars such as Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Vanessa Kirby, among others. Newcomers to the franchise include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, and Nick Offerman. The film is produced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance, with a release date set for May 23, 2025.

Angela Bassett, who currently stars as LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant on ABC’s “9-1-1,” continues to showcase her versatility across both film and television.
